New Zealand Holiday Parks offer a wide range of accommodation types from basic cabins where clients bring their own bedding etc, through to fully self contained units, equipped with all bedding, en-suite facilities and cooking equipment.
The accommodation that is listed on this site is all self-contained. Because terminology for individual units can vary between parks we set out below some general descriptions to help with your choice.
MOTEL | PARK MOTEL
These units are open plan with bed(s) contained within the living area. They contain en-suite facilities, TV, cooking facilities, crockery, cutlery etc. Bedding will consist of a Double Bed and in some instances will also have a Single Bed to accommodate a third person.
1 & 2 Bedroom
These units will have separate bedroom(s) generally accommodating a Double Bed in one room along with Single Beds in a second room. Some units may have additional bedding arrangements in the living area, either a Single Bed or a Fold-out Divan. These units have full en-suite facilities, TV etc, as for a Studio Unit.
SELF CONTAINED UNITS |TOURIST FLATS | HOLIDAY FLATS
- These units are very similar to Motel units as above
- Available in Studio Units as well as 1 and 2 bedroom units
The main point of difference between a Motel | Park Motel and a Self Contained Unit / Tourist Flat / Holiday Flat is in the bedding arrangements. All will contain a Double Bed, however the sleeping arrangements in additional bedrooms may consist of Bunks. These units are ideal for families.
All have full en-suite facilities as well as kitchen facilities, including crockery, cutlery etc. and again come equipped with linen, towels, bedding, etc.
In some locations properties have named specific units that command a premium rate. These tend to be in scenic locations and have spectacular views of either mountains or lakes. Where you find a property with named units you can be sure that this particular unit will have outstanding views to enjoy.
